6:30 PM Public Input on a Study for a Pedestrian Tunnel/Expansion of the Border-to-

The City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation Services, the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC) and the Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative (HWPI) are collaborating on a feasibility study for a pedestrian tunnel beneath the railroad tracks that would connect Barton Nature Area and Bandemer Park. The City and WCPARC seek public feedback on the project and preliminary plans. This project would provide a highly desired, non-motorized connection between the parks and fill a critical gap on the Border-to-Border Trail.  Depending on the outcome of the feasibility study, the Border-to-Border Trail may be extended through Barton Nature Area as an accessible paved trail, while retaining the majority of the existing non-paved trail.

Persons with disabilities are encouraged to participate in public meetings. Accommodations, including sign language interpreters, may be arranged by contacting the city clerk's office at 734.794.6140; via email to: cityclerk@a2gov,org; or by written request addressed and mailed or delivered to: City Clerk's Office, 301 E. Huron St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104. Requests made with less than two business days notice may not be able to be accommodated.

Please see a map of the project site at: https://www.a2gov.org/departments/Parks-Recreation/Documents/Proposed2018CityCountyProjects.pdf or visit washtenaw.org/b2b for more information.
