Celebrate Huron River Day by resorting native habitat near the river. This floodplain forest contains many water-loving species. But non-native species are degrading the quality of this habitat. Help us pull these unwanted plants. The native wildlife will thank you! Meet at the Island Park parking lot at the end of Island Drive (map). All participants must complete a release form, and all minors should be accompanied by a guardian. Tools, snacks, and know-how provided.

Enjoy the beautiful Huron River with free, family-friendly river activities during the Huron River Day celebration at Gallup Park, 3000 Fuller Road in Ann Arbor, on Sunday, May 19 from 12-4 p.m. Sponsored by the Detroit Edison Foundation. for details.

Ann Arbor's Mayor Christopher Taylor kicks off the festival at noon
Live music | fishing | antique/classic small boat show | local food trucks
$5 canoe and kayak rentals: ride your bike and your boat is free!
Bike tune-ups from Common Cycle volunteers
Try stand-up paddle boarding (SUP)
Presentations by Dirt Doctors at 2 and 4 p.m.
Participate in the Enviro-Challenge to earn a prize
Butterfly house from the Michigan Native Butterfly Farm

Come celebrate the wonderful Huron River! This free and fun festival includes children’s activities, live animal programs, river exhibits, live music, dancing, fishing, stand-up paddle boarding and much more. Boat rentals are discounted to $5/boat! Food trucks will be offering a variety of snacks and meals for sale. Ride your bike and receive a coupon for a free boat rental. Sponsored by DTE Energy Foundation.
