For those planning to vote absentee, the Ann Arbor city clerk’s office will be open special hours on Saturday, Aug. 3, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. for voters to pick up or turn in Special Election absentee ballots. The city clerk’s office is located on the second floor of Larcom City Hall, 301 E. Huron St. On-street or lot parking is available off of Ann Street, east of Fifth Avenue. The last day to register to vote by mail is July 22. After this date, residents may register in person with the city clerk up to and including on Election Day. Reminiscent of a campfire sing-along, the intergenerational Community Sing, led by Emily Slomovitz and Dawn Swartz, will use the Rise Up Singing and Rise Again songbooks for a rousing night of singing. Each person will have a chance to pick a song. Feel free to bring your own songs to share, too! Just $5 per person, so bring all your friends!
